I grew up watching people build remarkable things from almost nothing.
In Baghdad, under sanctions that severed supply chains and starved manufacturers of materials, ordinary people engineered extraordinary solutions — not out of genius, but necessity. That spirit of making it work regardless shaped how I approach every product I've touched since.
"Purpose means adding genuine value — to something I actually believe in. Not chasing trends." — Saleh Ghiyath
I moved to New Zealand and spent 20+ years engineering hardware products that shipped globally. Battery management systems for Yamaha. Marine electronics for NAVICO. A $2M storage range for Sistema Plastics — 21 tools, 7 patents, 12 months. A portable speaker chosen by Sony USA that sold 50,000 units in its first year.
I hold 7 patents and won the NZ Plastics Industry Gold Prize in 2004. I am not a designer who hands over renders and steps away. I'm an engineer who understands what happens when design meets the production floor — and I design so it survives that moment.
Delivering the EVO G6 payment terminal — a complex product integrating an embedded printer and universal card reading. Precision tolerances, thermal management, DFM for high-volume manufacture.
Led mechanical design for the Smart Battery Hub. 300A power surge rating, IPX7 certified, vibration and thermal validated. Production line setup in Juarez, Mexico.
Led product design for rugged marine electronics across two premium brands. IPX6/7 enclosures, DFM/DFA, factory trials, global distribution. Products still on the market.
$2M USD storage programme. 21 tools manufactured, 7 patents granted, delivered in 12 months. NZ Plastics Industry Gold Prize.
Refrigeration storage systems. Toyota LFPD and LAMDA discipline. DVP, PPAP, UL standards, Six Sigma. Warranty resolution and cost reduction programmes.
Designed the Galaxy speaker system — selected by Sony USA for global distribution. The Maxell 2.1 variant sold 50,000 units in its first year on shelf. Estimated revenue $5M+.
NINAVA is everything I wished existed when I was on the other side of the brief. Products designed properly — with real engineering behind them, not just a surface. Built to last a decade, not to be replaced in a year.
The name comes from a place of origins. Like the brand: built under constraint, designed for the distance.
